If we think about burger, the first brand which hits my mind everytime is McDonald’s.
It is the most popular brand which serves you snacks which are extremely delicious as well as very low priced.
So let’s do User map journey on McDonald’s and see our experience.
1. SEARCHING NEAREST OUTLET.
So first we have to decide where we want to go and for that I just google the nearest outlet of McDonald’s. It was not damn far from my house so I just called my friends and we decided to meet at the location. I shared the location of that outlet in our whatsapp group to make it easy for them to reach there.
2. GOING TO THE OUTLET.
Here the step was I just search the location on google maps and was ready with my bike. So I followed the route given by the maps but because of traffic I just made slight changes and just arrived at the location.
Yes I forgot to mention I was wearing a helmet.
When all of us arrived the most difficult part was to find a location as it was just packed with vehicles.
We just wasted our 10–15 minutes because we we’re not able to find the place for parking.
3. ORDERING FOOD.
When we entered the outlet we just settled and scanned the QR Code given for the menu.
I was so hungry that I just don’t want to waste my time in exploring new arrivals so I just searched my favourite one and order was placed. It was so easy we just clicked on the items and then we got options for payment.
So it was very easy and only one click process as it directly took us to the payment mode and we just clicked and money was deducted and order was confirmed.
4. RECEIVING ORDER.
As it was a very big outlet so we were not able to see the order number plate. We just sat for 20 mins waiting for our order but it was not delivered so I just went to them and asked for the order and they said it was ready from past 10 mins and I felt so angry at that point. So I told them I’m not taking this, burger are not hot and it just ruined my mood. So after a long talk they changed my order and sent it where we were sitting.
The meal was extremely yummy and we just enjoyed it. But when they can send the message for the confirmation of our order they should also sent a message when it’s ready. And as McDonald’s it a pretty huge food chain we just don’t like these type of mistakes from them. As we all know food is one of the things which make us happy and I just expect a damn ‘HAPPY MEAL’ from them. And also one thing when we entered there was sanitizer and temperature check machine but nobody was assigned on that duty, so what’s the use when you can’t do that.
These things are not to be taken lightly and also in this corona period we should take all the precautions to be safe and healthy.
To describe it better I made a map which shows each and every stage, my emotions, touch points and my experience while going through this journey.
So it is like a summary of all the steps I did-
SO AT THE END I JUST REALIZED THAT I HAVE BEEN TO McDONALD’S SEVERAL TIMES EARLIER BUT WHILE DOING THIS USER MAP JOURNEY THE WAY I WAS SEEING EVERY STEP WAS VERY DIFFERENT AND I JUST ENJOYED IT.
AT FIRST I THOUGHT McDONALD’S IS A PRETTY HUGE BRAND AND WHAT CAN THEY DO WRONG BUT I FOUND WHAT THEY CAN CHANGE AND MAKE CONSUMERS MORE SATISFIED AND HAPPY. AND THEY SHOULD SAY
